Monday, January 4th 2010

So I was walking around the other day and I saw this guy. He is a member of the church, goes to church every Sunday, and I have been to his house and all, but never really inside of it. It's a pretty small house but everybody's house is small here. So, he told me to come to his house the next day. So we went over there, but we got there early. He is usually ready for us, but when I got there he wasn't there and the door was open. So I figured he was in the back, which he was but I almost cried from the site that I saw. He has a sister that lives with him. And his sister was on the bed, the one and only bed that they had. He was on the concrete floor curled up in a ball using a piece of a mattress as a pillow and a towel as a blanket. He is first of all probably the most humble guy I have ever meet and just seeing that moves a man. It makes me want to be a better person.

But now to the rest of my week. So this week was really good. We have some really good people investigating and getting ready to get baptized. We have these three kids, 16 and 17 years of age, that are going to get baptized this Saturday and they are awesome. They live right next to each other and help each other out to do everything - to read, to go to church, to do everything. And I am really excited for them. Then we ran into this inactive family and started teaching them and a few of the other people living in the house. We got them to go to church this Sunday with their whole family. And we were able to set baptismal dates for the younger siblings of the family that haven't been baptized. They are going to get baptized on the 23 of this month. We are still teaching a family that is going to get married this coming week and then baptized the following - hopefully. They are progressing really well. But the sad thing is that tomorrow is transfer day. I am going to be leaving my area so my companion is going to have to finish teaching them. But the good thing is that I am only moving to the area right next to mine so I will be able to go to the baptisms. And the way dang awesome thing is that I am going to train again. So that will be the third person that I will be training. So that will be way fun. I've pretty much spent 3 months being trained, 3 months not, and 9 months is what I will have after this missionary is trained. I love training new missionaries. They are so ready to step it up with me. Old missionaries are just lame and don't want to work. They just want to play and mess around. But yea - two more missionaries got sent home as well this week. That seems to be happening more and more these days. But the week was sweet.

For the 31st we were stuck in the house. So we stayed up till midnight and then watched the fire works that were going off all over the place for a while then we went to bed. I'm really excited for this coming week.
Love You,
Elder Woestman
